The Empowerment Home Inspection Report
Chances are you have a loaded plate before and after the home inspection, making it likely you will not remember every single crucial concept and concerned addressed. Our understanding of this concern inspired the development of our own home inspection reporting system and our commitment to continuously refining it. Our intention is to provide you with a home inspection report that answers all the questions you have without the need to call an expert.

Just as your home inspector does, our narrative home inspection report explains everything objectively (based on fact, not opinion), in detail and practically. We clearly state the limitations involved in any aspect of the home inspection, so that you are never left with a false sense of security. Informative entries are included to define, demystify and elaborate on commonly misunderstood concepts. As an alternative to the notoriously deficient yet highly sought after "Summary Report" concept, we employ a color coded text system to distinguish narratives as:

  • Black represents what is generally considered to be an acceptable condition, Inspection Scope narratives are in this color and are identified with (S) titles, Informative narratives are distinguished with (I) titles and are in a special section.
  • Blue represents defects, deficiencies, maintenance issues and other conditions that could eventually result in a structural, mechanical, health, safety and/or other such serious concern if neglected. Also identifies items near the end of their generic serviceable lives and conditions that affect the efficiency of property systems.
  • Orange represents defects, deficiencies, maintenance issues and other conditions that are potentially serious structural, mechanical, health safety and/or other such serious concerns if not properly addressed in the near feature.
  • Red represents defects, deficiencies, maintenance issues and other conditions that are considered to be of immediate serious structural, mechanical, health safety and/or other such serious concerns in which urgent further evaluation and/or proper correction is very strongly recommended.
  • Green identifies a recommendation of the home inspector.
  • Brown identifies situational limitations and exclusions in the inspection findings.
  • *** Indicates a narrative written by the home inspector during the course of the home inspection; manually entered notes lack the color coding feature

Since pictures are worth a thousand words, we include them in our home inspection report next to their relevant narratives! Your home inspector proudly takes high resolution pictures of the property for:

  • Visual identification of inspected areas and items
  • "Proof" of stated conditions
  • Viewing items which are otherwise not viewable (underneath an enclosed deck, roof protrusions on a roof that cannot be safely walked, etc.)
  • When a picture conveys more information than the narrative does
  • Future examination of the home inspection findings without the need to revisit the property

Your home inspector will generate your report immediately after the home inspection provided that:

  • The inspected property has electricity
  • You or your realtor will physically be on-site to receive the report when it is completed
  • The inspection is not an Honesty Advantage (seller's) home inspection
